The Villa

On top of Hiriketiya hill

Sudu Villa sits on top of Hiriketiya hill, in the village of Hiriketiya — one of Sri Lanka's best beaches. It is a 3-minute walk to Hiriketiya beach and a 5-minute walk to Pehebiya beach, right amongst the beach bars and restaurants that make the village special — and one of the only villas in the area to enjoy both an ocean view and a village-centre position.

The house has a modern industrial tropical design, unique to the area. It sleeps up to 13 people and is ideal for families, groups of friends, or anyone who prefers some space.

Outside peak times (December, January and August) the villa can also be rented as two separate two-bedroom apartments, each with its own living and kitchen areas and separate entrances.

The villa opened around July 2023. Day-to-day hosting is looked after by villa manager Charu.

Sudu Villa is on Pehembiya Road in Hiriketiya (Hiri), Dikwella, on Sri Lanka's south coast — on top of Hiriketiya hill, above the village.

Hiriketiya bay is a protected horseshoe bay, swimmable 12 months of the year, with two surf breaks: a gentle break in the middle of the cove (rides up to about 50 m, ideal for beginners) and a fast left-hander on the east side (rides up to about 350 m, for intermediates and experts). No main road runs alongside the beach, which makes Hiri safe and quiet to walk around.
